 The proprietor of Room For Threads is Anne Huntley.
Anne has a lifelong involvement in textiles which began with completion of a Degree in Fashion at Emily McPherson College, Melbourne, Australia.
Anne then worked as a pattern maker at Crestknit an Australian fashion garment maker. She progressed into a business of her own - operating a Knitwit franchise in Heidelberg, Melbourne, which quickly became one of the best performing stores as she developed her skills in workshop tutoring, creative design and personal retailing.
Subsequently, Anne and family moved to Queensland when she took an Advanced Creative Needlework Certificate at Tweed TAFE - at the same time lecturing in the Fashion Department. Her interest in, and love for fabrics had moved from hobby to business to the academic world.
In recent years, Anne has refined and applied her knowledge and passion for textural embroidery in a private tutorial format and also conducting sessions for many Embroiderers Guilds throughout Australia.
Room For Threads at Palm Beach on the beautiful Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia has become a mecca for embroiderers as a source of specialized threads and embroidery - through personal shopping, mail order, or via the Internet.
Anne also conducts private workshops from her studio.
